Paris: Part Deux

Well, we did it! Our layover adventure in Paris was a complete success. After nearly 12 hours on what I have to say was a delightful flight on Air France, we landed in Paris at 10:30am. Quick recap, if there is one area that gives me anxiety, it is traveling.

Confession: I’ve Done Steroids

Think of an occasion when you felt like you weren’t quite good enough. This feeling of wishing you were taller, thinner, more attractive or [fill in the blank] can occur several times in life. Caring friends may remind you that “you are perfect just the way you are.” After rolling your eyes, stop for a […]

My Dad Is From Mars And My Mom Is From Venus

My parents divorced when I was 16.  Contrary to many children of divorce, this was not devastating news to me.  In fact, I encouraged it.  They had been sleeping in separate bedrooms for years and fought all the time.  Like any good teenager, I rolled my eyes when my Mom blamed their sleeping arrangement on […]

Let’s Get Vulnerable, Baby!

I have reiterated this lesson to clients for years now, yet I must admit that it stings when it happens in my life. I […]

You Can’t Have Dreidels On That Christmas Tree!

“You can’t have dreidels on your Christmas Tree!”  We hear that a lot.  People seem startled when they visit our home and are greeted by all kinds of religious symbolism.  A mezuzah hangs on our door frame, a four foot tall statue of Buddha perches in our foyer, and a wrought iron cross adorns our […]

Summer Fun

Do you remember the excitement you felt counting the days in school until Summer vacation?  Days felt like weeks and minutes felt like hours, until that last day of school arrived.  This is the day that everyone has to attend school for one hour before you are released to freedom.  There was even a sense […]
